As its name suggests, ARROJO Underground is an independent, underground fashion event, conceived in 2003 to forecast trends in cut, color, and style for the coming season.

(September 9, 2007) This years’ event is whispered “the best yet” by brave urbanites, dandy’s, cool cats, groovers and schmoozers who took time out from the fashion week world to see Arrojo take the underground army of the street by storm. The talk was of “modern, fabulous and functional hair that just begs to be worn.”

In the raw industrial shell of the new Arrojo 13,000 square foot Expansion Space four rock and roll runway performances displayed this future of versatile hairstyle with moveable shape. All accented with blended blocks of strong bold color.

Runway Show 1: “0 Degrees”

Cleverly constructed, free flowing and contemporary, trend-savvy hairstyle hit like the light of a laser. Rounded bowl shapes undercut for weightlessness, swing and movement bring out the beauty. Deft shades of single monochromatic hair color changes the dynamic of each cut. Precise technique. Creative Vision. Phoenix rising.

Runway Show 2: “Industrial”

Graduated a-symmetrical shapes, messy short cropped cuts, swing bowls, and shaggy layers are new-mod inspired and display tomorrow’s desire for movement and freedom. Soft and stylized, just-rolled-out-of-bed looks with texture that defines these loose and easy styles.

Runway Show 3: “Gutter Chic”

Now showing dirty and disheveled deconstructed hair cuts for women and men. Rounded layers aggressively cut from short to long with heavier, textured bangs that bare the brilliant brunt of malleable Gutter Chic. Viciously shaped styles pop deliciously and suit “the lets party in dirty basement” aesthetic.

Runway Show 4: “Disposable Manufacturing”

Change it up without commitment. Use of color pieces to make your style adaptable according to mood and inclination. Magically creative red, orange and purple, green on brown, purple on black, or hints of yellow gold – all to define a variable cut and style. Vibrant colors. Bold and obvious. Hot for 2008.
